Giving to CLC

How will your gift be used?

Creative Living Center is a non-profit agency.  As a non-profit agency, we depend heavily on funding from government grants, and support from donations from organizations, clubs, churches and individuals within the community in order to be able to offer our services. In addition, we must generate additional income from private paying participants.

The funding we receive through Mid East Commission is limited to an allocated amount, and covers a limited number of participants’ program fees. But there is not a sufficient amount available to meet the needs of all those requiring our services, and consequently there is a waiting list. Participants who are not yet on the grant must pay privately, or wait for an opening on the grant before they can attend. This funding alone does not allow us enough income to be able to operate.

For many years, we received a grant from the United Way for almost $40,000/year.  One of the benefits of that funding was that it helped us to be able to offer our services to all our private paying participants at a reduced rate.  The population we mainly serve is low income – the elderly and disabled, and most of our participants are not able to pay full price, or not able to pay at all.  In addition, our services are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance.  Although our private pay fee is $46.00/day, the majority of our participants were allowed to pay much less. Creative Living Center fees are very reasonable in comparison to the cost of homecare services which are upwards of $75.00/day.) This past year has been a difficult one for Creative Living Center.  As of March, our United Way funding has been discontinued, leaving us with a large deficit. One of the results is that we no longer have the financial capability of being able to offer a reduced rate. Because of this, potential participants are unable to pay privately, greatly reducing the number of much needed private paying participants.

At this time, we are facing the very sad fact that we may soon have to close our doors if we are not able to make up for this loss of funding and income. One of our goals is to generate income by increasing private pay admissions. In order to do this, we must be able to offer our services at a fee that is not prohibitive to the population we serve. It is our hope that through the support of our community, we will be able to facilitate the admission of more individuals to our program due to a more affordable cost to them. Your gift will be used to fund “scholarships” so that those who need the services of Creative Living Center will not be turned away because they have limited income. And through your generosity, it is our hope that after over twenty years of providing a most valuable and needed service to our community, we will be able to continue to do so.

Creative Living Center would like to encourage you to make a donation to our valuable program now.
